Yunex InView - FAQ - External Fault Codes

Managing Fault Codes from External Systems

If InView has links to external systems (e.g. Stratos, UTC or RMS) the fault codes can be managed by selecting External Fault Codes from the Administrators->Customer menu.

Managing Fault Codes from the new Stratos Datex Fault Feed

The Stratos Datex fault feed to InView can similarly be managed by selecting External Fault Codes from the Administrators->Customer menu. Over the coming months all customers with the existing Stratos fault feed will be switched to use the new Datex fault reporting mechanism.

This new interface offers the ability to delay the creation of incidents.
For example, a momentary power fail can be held and only submitted to InView if it continues to persist after (say) 15 minutes.
It also provides an indication of when previously raised faults have cleared.

More information on managing faults from the Stratos Datex fault feed will follow shortly.

Managing Fault Codes from non Stratos Datex Fault Feed

If InView has links to external systems (such as the old Stratos fault feed, UTC or RMS) the fault codes can similarly be managed by selecting External Fault Codes from the Administrators->Customer menu. These interfaces have fewer options available in the Generate dropdown list than those available in the Datex fault feed.

Admin Ext Fault Codes

First choose the external system from the drop-down - this is UTC in the example above. The Add, Delete and Copy buttons at the top are for managing the lists of codes for external systems. It is best to consult InView Administrators about using these as additional set-up work is required to enable external systems.

To add an external fault code, press the Add button at the bottom of the screen. Input the name (source fault code) and description in the pop-up. To delete a fault code, select the line and press Delete at the bottom.

To associate an external fault code with an InView fault code, select the external code and then click on the required InView code from the list on the right hand side. The Fault Code field will then be updated.

It is also possible to determine how each external fault code will be treated (the Generate column). The default is to always ignore, but the drop-down allows selection of two alternatives - inform operator and log always.

To keep any changes made press the Save button - otherwise choose Cancel.
